›If I buy the 1-year or 2-year plan, will I be charged automatically every year?
No. The 1-year plan (HK$69) and the 2-year plan (HK$99) are a one-time payment and do not auto-renew. When the plan ends, you can buy another yearly plan, or choose the monthly plan (HK$39 / month). Payroll calculation stays free.
›How many helpers does a plan cover?
1 active helper. Another helper needs another plan. Records of inactive helpers are kept.
›Can I get a refund?
Yes — a full refund within 3 days of payment if no paid feature has been used (no payslip saved to the archive, no e-sign link created, no no-watermark PDF downloaded). See the Refund Policy for details.
›What happens when my plan ends?
Your data is kept but locked until you renew. Renewing restores access immediately; if you renew early, the new plan starts the day after your current expiry date.
›My helper left early. Can I move my plan to a new helper?
Yes. Once you mark the previous helper as employment ended (contract completed or terminated), you can move the plan's remaining time to a newly hired helper. Each plan can be moved once per plan period. After the move, the previous helper's records are locked but can be exported once for free (PDF/ZIP). Signing links you already sent keep working. Remaining time isn't refunded. See Terms section 5, clause 6A.
›How do I renew?
Renewing means buying again (a one-time payment). Nothing is charged automatically. You can renew for the same helper; if you renew early, the new plan starts the day after your current plan ends, so you don't lose any days.
›How is pay worked out for the first and last month?
PayHelpers HK pro-rates by calendar days: monthly wage × days employed ÷ days in that month, counting both the first and the last day (for example, a start date of 15 October counts 15–31 October, 17 days; a last day of 20 October counts 1–20 October, 20 days). This is a calculation aid in the app, not legal advice and not a method required by law. Results are for reference only; your contract and the law prevail. If needed, you can adjust that month's food allowance on the payslip.
›Is it safe to upload a photo of the contract? Who can see it?
Contract text recognition (OCR) runs in your own browser using open-source software we host ourselves. It is not sent to a third-party OCR service. Identity card and passport numbers are masked and never copied into the helper profile. OCR only prefills the form and can make mistakes, so check every field before you confirm. On the free tier, the original contract isn't kept after you confirm. Paid plans keep the original for you. Contracts are never used to train AI and are never shown to other users. ›How are rest days and statutory holidays handled?
The calendar marks Hong Kong statutory holidays automatically (you choose Winter Solstice or Christmas), and you mark rest days on the calendar. If your helper works on a statutory holiday, the app reminds you to record a makeup day (alternative or substituted holiday) and its deadline, and shows it on the payslip. Rest days and statutory holidays are paid and already included in the monthly salary. All calculations are for reference only and aren't legal advice. If in doubt, check the Labour Department's public information.
›Can my helper sign the payslip on her phone?
Yes, on a paid plan. You send her a signing link. She opens it on her phone, reads the payslip and signs with her finger. No app download is needed. Payslips come in Chinese (Hong Kong), English and Indonesian. Once signed, that month's payslip is locked and can't be changed.
›Can I get a copy of my records?
Yes. After a plan ends, or after it's moved to a new helper, tap Download on that helper's locked screen. You get one free download per helper, with no need to renew. The ZIP has the payslips, signed payslips, the contract (if stored), the holiday calendar and the helper's details. The download link works for 10 minutes. You can download the file again for 30 minutes after it is created; after that the file can no longer be downloaded and is deleted from our servers within 48 hours, so save it right away.
